International Competition for Young Artists KARTINA MIRA was presented at the National Center RUSSIA

As part of the panel discussion "A Space of Opportunities for Young Artists in Russia: Rethinking the Future,", the organizers told the audience about the new project and creative prospects for its participants.
"Kartina Mira competition, in my opinion, has an important mission, expands and strengthens cultural ties. It is also one of the tools of diplomacy. I am sure that the results will once again show that the Russian creative community is in the mood of events, comprehending the changes that are taking place not only in our country, but also in the world. Artists reflect current social trends, national culture and identity,"said Sergey Pershin, Deputy Minister of Culture of Russian Federation.

and through creativity try to comprehend and convey the values of their people, which is the key theme of the competition. The works will be evaluated by the expert council in three categories: painting, graphics and digital art.
"The purpose of the competition is to search for new impulses for cultural exchange between creative people from all over the world and to broadcast national values as part of the global culture of humanity. This project involves artists in the study of traditions and their development in the modern world. At the first stage, the creative council will select 100 works, at the second — the 50 best, then, at the third stage, 14 finalists will be selected by voting. The selection process is already in full swing — to date, more than 190 applications have been submitted from young artists from 18 countries," said Natalia Popova, First Deputy General Director of Innopraktika company.
The works of the finalists of the competition will be presented at the branch of the State Tretyakov Gallery in Kaliningrad as part of the V International Festival of Classical Music "Kantata". The exhibition will open in June 2025.
"The result of our work should show how large-scale and promising the work with the modern art community is. This is a synergy of science, technology, culture and art. As soon as the list of participants in the second stage of the competition is known, we will be happy to present the exhibition in the new branch of the Tretyakov Gallery in Kaliningrad," said Elena Pronicheva, General Director of the State Tretyakov Gallery.
As the rector of St. Petersburg Academy of Fine Arts Semyon Mikhailovsky noted, the competition is open and the acceptance of applications is not limited by geography — everyone can send their works. Students and graduates of specialized art educational institutions, free young artists aged 18 to 35 years, regardless of their place of residence, can take part in it.
"Thanks to the Kartina Mira project, a young artist from any corner of the world, from any region has a unique opportunity to paint a work and become a participant in the Tretyakov Gallery’s exposition in six months. And this is an entrance ticket to the top league, a chance to declare yourself, to be noticed. We are witnessing a moment when Russia is becoming a magnet for young artists from all countries. This is no coincidence: the priority of supporting young talents is very strong in Russia. It is enough to look at the huge number of self-realization projects," added Andrey Serov, First Vice President of Gazprombank.
Olesya Malevannaya, Head of the Laboratory for Cultural and Educational Projects at the National Centre RUSSIA, added that the National Center is always ready to support creative initiatives, including those of young artists, and also wished the Kartina Mira competition great success.
