An exhibition of watercolor art masterpieces has opened at the State Tretyakov Gallery
The exposition "The Magic of Watercolour. Drawings from the Department of Graphic Arts of the XVIII-early XX centuries" includes more than 250 masterpieces from the museum collection.
Visitors to the Tretyakov Gallery will be able to see the famous ceremonial portraits by A.P. Bryullov and P.F. Sokolov, pages from A.A. Ivanov’s biblical cycle, series of Surikov’s Italian and Spanish works from nature, works by M.A. Vrubel and V.E. Borisov-Musatov.
The exhibition of 250 works represents the most important stages of mastering the watercolor technique and various areas of its application. It is not only beautiful, but also educational. Each work is part of the great diversity of individual styles of execution and the possibilities of the world of watercolor.
