Svetlana Supranovich, a photo artist and member of the Creative Youth Community of Fine Arts (a joint project of Tavrida. ART and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation) from St. Petersburg, joined the competition’s Youth Creative Council.
The International Competition for Young Artists "Kartina Mira" shapes the cultural climate in society by emphasizing the value of art and creativity. It is a platform for self-expression and professional growth. In the context of a rapidly changing reality, such an initiative serves as an important motivation factor for developing the creative potential of modern creators,"Svetlana notes. "Our time is faced with globalization leading to the blending of traditions and values. Culture based on national identities promotes self-expression and preserves the uniqueness of peoples. This not only broadens the horizons of perception, but also creates a deeper understanding of the world, allowing us to see beauty in diversity. The theme of the competition allows us to explore the relationship between the individual and the universal, the local and the global, when the values of the people are manifested through the prism of personal experience."
To recap, members of the creative council take part in the first qualifying stage. Representatives of the Youth Creative Council will select 100 entries that meet the competition requirements. From these entries, the Creative Council will select the best 50 to be shortlisted for the competition. On the basis of the ranking voting, 14 finalists will be chosen, whose works will be presented at the exhibition in the branch of the Tretyakov Gallery in Kaliningrad within the 5th Cantata International Classical Music Festival.
"Any attempts to isolate our culture have been futile and have had rather the reverse effect. This is confirmed by the International Exhibition of Young Art Art. Youth, which we organized at the World Festival of Youth in March this year. Despite the tight deadline, there were 2,601 entries from 110 countries. It certainly makes sense to continue this experience, to give young creators a constructive voice. The "Kartina Mira" competition is dedicated to the fact that every young artist, Russian or foreign, could demonstrate their skills and claim to be exhibited in the main halls of our country", Sergey Pershin, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, said.
Apply to participate here Entries will be accepted until March 1, 2025.
