IBRAHIMA MBODJI
SENEGAL
In his works, he explores national identity, generational continuity, the conflict between tradition and modernity, as well as how technology changes our consciousness.
A decisive creative shift occurred in 2019, when Ibrahima took up a simple blue ballpoint pen. This choice was driven by poverty — the young man simply did not have money for paints or professional drawing materials. However, his daily practice evolved into virtuoso mastery, and the simple pen became his main artistic tool.
Ibrahima is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Political Science, and for him the art serves as a tribune from which he speaks about the social, cultural, and human realities of Africa.
