"The Russian state has always placed great importance on the development of its visual arts and their resonance on the global stage. All creative expression is a reflection of the spirit of its time — something future generations will look upon as a cultural imprint of our era. Our President has repeatedly emphasized the vital need to believe in young people, in all times and circumstances: they are gifted, full of promise, and — without exaggeration — they are the future. Young artists reflect the cultural code of their nation.

It is undoubtedly essential to hold large-scale competitions such as KARTINA MIRA, and to organize collaborative artistic events where creators can showcase their vision. Equally important is engaging the new generation of artists in a deep reflection on contemporary trends and in the shaping of new cultural traditions within their countries: to learn to listen — and truly hear — one another through such diverse and vivid creative expression. What is especially significant today, despite the current geopolitical climate and attempts to isolate Russia, is that our competition, held at an international level, received a remarkable response and global attention: artists from more than 65 countries submitted nearly 1,500 entries across three categories.

The exhibition of the KARTINA MIRA finalists' works at a branch of the State Tretyakov Gallery in Kaliningrad marks the beginning of an extraordinary journey — not only for the participants, but also for the gallery, the city, and the country as a whole. Just recently, in October of last year, it all began with an open call for submissions, and today we are proud to share the results of this collective path with you".

In one of his seminal works, Alexander Solzhenitsyn gave voice to a character who said: "Art is not about what, but about how." As we extend our congratulations to the winners of the KARTINA MIRA — young, yet already mature individuals ready to express their unique vision through a distinctive artistic language, we celebrate the emergence of a modern dialogue of meanings, ideas, and perspectives in the timeless language of art.

In 2024, Innopraktika company took the initiative to launch this competition in order to create a new platform for interaction among young artists from around the globe. This year’s theme, "The values of my nation as part of the global human culture," allowed us to see not merely contemporary artworks, but visual expressions of an internal dialogue — on generational continuity, loss and renewal, anxiety and hope.

For several years now, we have been working to bring together young artists, musicians, and choreographers from dozens of countries through the International Innopraktika School. It is both meaningful and inspiring that many of them continue their connection with the culture of our country even after completing their studies, forming a community of young people — people of the future — who not only think globally, but also feel globally. By building a shared space that includes the Global Values Arts Festival, the International Forum of Young Filmmakers, and the Innopraktika Lecture Hall, we invite open discussion of the topic of values — not as dogma, but as a living and flexible process in a changing world.

"The International Competition for Young Artists KARTINA MIRA was established to support talented young artists.

This year, participants came from various countries and continents. They enthusiastically responded to the call to create socially significant works rooted in historical tradition and oriented toward the future.

Many of the submissions conveyed a deeply human dimension — emotions and experiences that resonated with viewers. Supporting arts education — academies, institutes, schools, lyceums, and colleges — was an important goal for us. The world is changing rapidly and becoming increasingly diverse.

We saw compelling works from Russian participants representing national republics and regions, and we felt the creative energy of artists from Asia and especially Africa.

I am confident that the International Competition for Young Artists KARTINA MIRA will provide new momentum for everyone involved, serving as an excellent platform for collaboration and showcasing artistic potential.".
