Zang Mingli, a graduate of St. Petersburg Academy of Fine Arts, underwent significant professional transformation during his four years of study. Beginning his journey in Konstantin Grachev’s workshop, he continued honing his skills under the guidance of renowned Russian artist Khamid Savkuev, where he is now completing his fourth year.
In the artist’s work, significant attention is given to the ideas of humanity, drawn from Confucian culture, and compassion, inspired by Buddhism. As a result, the artist is particularly interested in the everyday people of China—their life experiences and their role in the flow of history. For Minli, these seemingly inconspicuous characters and their lives are an essential part of the world’s picture.
Moreover, his works, exhibited both in Russia and China, as well as the themes explored by the young artist, demonstrate a profound engagement with Russian historical subjects.
